Version B 2These are screen shots of an HPC text visualization project supported by SHARCNET and TAPoR. This a progress report on version B 2. | ||||||||

| The first version was a simple 2D ring with the text flowing up the side. Version B 2 (Beta 2) builds a cylinder that after the processing is finished can be manipulated. The text flows up the center and the collocates appear on lines so that (turned sideways) you can see the distribution of a word. | ||||||||

The words used are the top 20 high frequency words (without stop words.) You can see the words radiating out and colour coded by frequency. The highest frequency is at 12:00 noon and then going around clockwise. The text is the introduction to Frankenstein contributed by Wendel Piez. We are not using the TEI XML at the moment.
Image 2Here you can see the collocation lines between words - the web in the centre.
Image 3Here you can see an interactive feature. If you look at the word "Life" you will see one instance (round red ball) has a wireframe cube around it. That instance is selected and the text up the middle synchronizes so you can see that instance. The instance in the text is in the middle, but partly covered by collocation lines.
