TAPoR Portal Recipes

This page describes common or interesting sequences of actions, or recipes, for the TAPoR portal.

Generate a frequency count from a dynamically aggregated text

  1. login to the TAPoR portal
  2. on the Workbench page, use the Googlizer from the tools menu (if it's not there, add it)
  3. modify the search terms if desired and click "submit"
  4. save the results to the data bench (give it a label like "googlized text")
  5. use the List Words (HTML) tool from the tools menu (if it's not there add it)
  6. select the googlized text from the Data Bench section and click submit

Notes:

  • be sure that you invoke the tools from the Workbench, otherwise you won't be able to use the data bench
  • be sure to dismiss windows once you're done with them since subsequent results might appear in the same window, but hidden behind the active window
