TAPoR News
Built into the TAPoR Portal is a news system with multiple channels including a General news channel. The General news channel can be read on the main page of the TAPoR Project site or the TAPoR Portal.
If you want to contribute news you can send items to Geoffrey Rockwell or Stéfan Sinclair. If you want editing priviledges on the General news channel to post directly you should also contact Geoffrey Rockwell or Stéfan Sinclair.
General News Guidelines
If you are using a News Channel for a personal or group research blog then disregard these guidelines. These guidelines apply only to news channels intended for public viewing.
- We encourage the posting of any news pertaining to the TAPoR project in general or at particular nodes
- We encourage the posting of any news of interest to the TAPoR group as a whole. If you want a channel for local news set one up. General news about humanities computing should probably be sent to HUMANIST
- If you set up a channel try to post regularly. For example, something every month, but not every day. It is hard to say what the right volume is, but think of your audience.
- The news is indexed so the channel can become a record of activity to be searched. For that reason you may want to include details useful later on like the exact date of an event.
- Have a useful title and include details. Don't go on to long - point to other information.
Next Steps
We maintain a development team wiki with notes for development. If you would like to participate contact James Chartrand of Open Sky Solutions. In general the next phase of the portal development will involve:
- Testing and improving the interface of the portal.
|
|
- Testing and documenting tools.
- Recruiting developers and new tools.
- Building public libraries.
