Possible Inputs and Outputs
Possible Inputs
- a single word
- two or three words
- a longer phrase without punctuation
- a url
- two or three url (would you do this?)
- an XML or HTML encoded file
- a reference to a local document (do we even want to support this via this interface iteration?)
Possible Outputs
- Googlizer is invoked and it aggregates a chunk of text for the top 10 URLs and gives a summary page
- We again use Googlizer and aggregate from the top 10 returns and return a summary page
- Same as above
- A URL will be run against the simplified summarizer
- In this case the same summarizer will be run, but will return a slightly abbreviated set of results and will present these in a two coilum,n arrangement. Between the two columns will be an 'explore difference' button as well as the standard 'tell me more'- type buttons that are underneath each summary component.
- This file would have to be stripped and then run through the simplerSummarizer.
- I don't think that we should allow this because the intent of this interface is to be enter and hit return. One click results, where this would be more involved and is better done through the portal.
