TAPoR Research
The TAPoR Project and Portal
TAPoR is a research infrastructure project that supports digital humanities at six universities across Canada. The
Portal is how we are making text analysis tools available broadly to researchers. Research conducted about use of the portal is to help improve it and to understand how people use text analysis in their research.
Data Gathering on the TAPoR Portal
The TAPoR project is gathering the following data as of April 20, 2007:
- Information about what tools are used
- Information about the size of texts passed to tools
- Information about where people are connecting from
- Information about errors
- Google Analytics about page usage
We are not gathering statistics on individual account usage.
How this will be used?
This information will be used primarly to improve performance of the portal. It will also be reported on in aggregate form in research contexts.
