SEASR in JiTR
Progress

"Here are some screen shots from our experiment to connect
JiTR and SEASR. The general idea of
JiTR is to prototype a collections management tool for researchers that can be used to manage texts and analyze them. One of the research goals of the Mashing Text project (funded with a SSHRC ITST grant) was to figure out what sorts of tools and what sorts of interfaces to tool would be desirable. We also have been looking at the realities of technical implementations. We have stuff about this at:
http://tada.mcmaster.ca/Main/MashTexts
1. In this first screen you can see a SEASR Flow being edited in the Meandre Workbench.
2. In the second screen shot you see the Edit screen where a user can edit a particular text that has been collected from the web. In this case it is an HTML document from the Wikipedia. On the left you see the tools that can be run on the text before the user, including the SEASR Tag Cloud Flow. One feature we don't have yet, but are designing is a page where users can decide what tools they want to have in their "Launch Tool" menu.
3. If the user clicks on the SEASR Tag Cloud then
JiTR launches the appropriate Flow and passes it the text. The Flow returns a word cloud.
Needless to say we have a lot more experimenting to do, but I thought you would be pleased to see a concrete integration working." --Geoffrey
