Digital Text 2.0
- We need a public private text model so DT2 can access public texts.
- We want to be able to have a dynamic text that is public - an aggregation that is being updated and is public
- We want a URL for any public (and private) text.
JiTR and Fedora
We now have clarity about the "mashing" part. We are testing the mashing of three types of tools with
JiTR:
- An XML editor for DEEP
- A spider for BROAD
- Fedora for both
We need to sort out the Fedora to
JiTR issue. (JC and Lian and Nick)
Spiders
We chose a spider,
Heritrix. Things to do:
- Lian will get Shawn an account to install Heritrix. If possible we will set it up on SHARCNET.
- Shawn will install it and run a trial on Globalization.
- Shawn and Peter will need to work out a process interface.
Interface
We need an interface showdown. I (GR) am worried about creeping featuritis. We need to revisit what a really simple user might want and how to avoid too many features. Ideas?
