April 1st Meeting Notes
We looked at the existing version and discussed what is in the package to be updated.
Things to be done:
- Update the entry page video with new version
- Serif fonts will be updated to sans-serif
- The footer should have a link to the Mashing Texts page
- Update "processes" to "Tools"
Things to be done next if we have time:
- We need to change weights of fonts for menus and stuff
- A slip model for the list of collections
- Make the "organized by" a drop down menu
Processes
Here is what we need to do for processes
- We need a slip for each process
- Each process needs an area it can push information
- We need a set of choices at bottom: Examine Stop Restart Kill
- Change to word "Tool"
- The "Tool" would say, "List Tools", bar, "Start New Tool", "Manage Tools", "Discover Tools"
We can imagine different types of process:
- Gathering processes
- Handling processes
- Analytical processes
How would people know what processes to run and what they would do?
- Have a thumbnail of the output of the process - some sort of description
- Recommendation engine
- A page with all the tools - sort of Flickr for tools -
