BROAD Style (OLD NOTES)

Words Association with JiTR

Logo

Thoughts on the Logo:
  • It should reflect the classiness of text, but also the quirky twist that JiTR adds.
  • Font-based logo? Or illustrated?
    • Perhaps Minion Pro? Nice (and easily accessible) serif font with weights that are effective on the screen.
    • Perhaps Comic Sans? Mish-mash font with no redeeming qualities, able to dispel any reputations we've built up?
    • Arno Pro has a good mix of blockiness and swishiness. The word "JiTR" is a really nice square with the "J" jutting out adventurously. Here's a sample logo, with 'j' slightly extended, a light gradient, an italicized 'i', and a coloured tittle : JiTR-ap.jpg

Layout

  • Considering a usable navigation has by far been my most difficult challenge of the project (Peter). It turned out that a big difference was made by simply switching sides of the sidebar. On the left is appears static, and important to the page, but on the left, for the westerner used to scanning from left to right, it comes after the content.

March 11th

  • This file still requires colour choices, but it represent layout considers stemming from the meeting between Peter, Geoffrey and Lian on March 7th. The main navigation is broken, so I've temporarily made the dropdowns "onclick" (meaning clicking rather than hovering will toggle them. NOTE: I JSUT RE
